If you have not watched Guru before, I highly urge you to watch it. It complements the movie and doesn’t take you out of it. Guru’s music will make you smile, laugh, and cry. The final feather in the crown is the music scored by A. Madhavan, Vidya Balan, and more such talented supporting actors, and you get a gripping story performed by masterful actors and actresses. The script is tight, and the casting is perfect. Abhishek Bachhan kills it as the main character Gurukant Desai, and so does Aishwarya Rai as her wife. I enjoyed watching this movie tremendously. It showcases the rise of a villager who came to Bombay in 1958 and rose to become the most prominent industry tycoon in the country. It’s not a biography but takes a lot of inspiration from his life. The movie is loosely based on the life of Dhiru Bhai Ambani - the founder of Reliance. Rock On launched the careers of both Prachi Desai and Farhan Akhtar who went on to be big names in the industry.Guru showcases that Abhishek Bacchan is not as inept an actor as everyone thinks him to be. Even after all these years, it has stayed relevant and it has built this cult following for itself that every director only dreams for their movies” I knew the movie was not exactly mainstream but the kind of love it continues to receive even after all this time still amazes me. “It’s the project that is closest to my heart, for many reasons.
