The movie is loosely based on the life of Dhiru Bhai Ambani - the founder of Reliance. Rock On launched the careers of both Prachi Desai and Farhan Akhtar who went on to be big names in the industry.Guru showcases that Abhishek Bacchan is not as inept an actor as everyone thinks him to be.
